Music is a huge part of writing for me. Sometimes a single song on repeat for hours and hours.

Music can inspire a scene, it can end up in a scene, express a feeling, etc. By the end of writing a story, I can listen to a song and be transported to a page. Sometimes songs are intrinsically linked in my mind to a scene.

For example; Take Me Out by Atomic Tom. Every time I hear it, I see Vale dancing around with a feather duster, cleaning. Or perhaps Love Song for a Vampire by THE GREAT Annie Lennox— that song inspired the scene where Vale is asleep, Oliver kisses her over the heart and she says she loves him for the first time. The scene was written to the beat of that song. Go read chapter 29 of Prince of Lust while listening to that song, and tell me if you feel it? I do.
