Underworld Wedding by TL Hawke Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Underworld Wedding is a crossover novella, connected to the book Havoc. It sits clearly in the mafia-romance genre. We get to catch up a little with two women I have missed dearly, Ashti and Harmony(my girls!). Thank you, TL Hawke, for that.

Lita (FMC) is a 5-foot-nothing badass who drives a McLaren, drools. She had me at McLaren, but she kept me with a finely timed slap. This is my kind of woman. I absolutely adore Lita and her fiery spirit. I love her violence too, which is something I rarely say about fictional characters. Hawke writes strong women so well, those who embrace the emotions of humanity without it dulling their female spirit. These women who overcome such great obstacles to find themselves, their voice, their strength, and I applaud them for it. It’s real and raw. I felt a real kinship with Lita. Seriously, I’ve got a crush on her.

This is a short read, a novella. There are some hard themes in it, but somehow Hawke pulls it off, flawlessly. It’s also sexy and frustrating. Sizzling one moment and a slap in the face the next. It’s a rollercoaster ride because the reader knows something the characters don’t, and you can’t wait till all comes out. My advice: read faster.

I’m always impressed by Hawke’s writing. I thoroughly enjoy getting lost in their stories. I’m a fan for life.

Just a note: Though this novella is set in the world of Havoc, I do believe that a reader could jump in without reading Havoc first. However, in an ideal world, you’d want to read Havoc to understand the stakes. I think reading Havoc raises the stakes in this novella, 100fold.

My advice preorder this one.
