Memory of the Blood Moon by Rebecca Byron

After devouring A Memory Not Mine, I eagerly anticipated the release of book 2. However, I was unprepared for the distinct nature of this novel.

From the very first chapter, a captivating mystery unfolded, captivating my attention and leaving me spellbound. The historical aspect of the story could have easily been expanded into a standalone book, but Rebecca skillfully weaves a tale that keeps readers guessing throughout its entirety. This is a rare feat, as I never knew what was to come, despite having my own theories. All of them proved to be incorrect.

The writing in this book is nothing short of sublime. It draws readers into its world, but it doesn’t present the story in a linear fashion. Instead, readers experience the past of another character, requiring them to engage their minds and think critically.

Rebecca Byron reintroduces a unique form of clairvoyance that sets this book apart. While I won’t delve into the details, I can assure you that I’ve never encountered a book with such a captivating magical element. In book 2, this aspect is elevated to new heights, adding an extra layer of intrigue and wonder.

Emotionally,  Memory of the Blood Moon is a complex and thought-provoking read. It has the power to evoke a range of emotions, from tears to anger. The book delves into deep and profound themes that require readers to confront and accept multiple character’s inner struggles. While it may be a challenging journey of character development, Rebecca Byron’s ending provides a satisfying conclusion but leaves you aching for more—always more.

In closing, I believe Rebecca Byron is only just beginning to unveil the vast and captivating world she has created. We have only scratched the surface, and there is much more to explore and experience. I eagerly await the next installment in this series, knowing that it will continue to expand and enrich the world she has so thoughtfully crafted.
